Senior Staff Psychologist: SPRING 2026

Full-Time or Half-Time

The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is seeking a New York licensed psychologist to join our established practice in New York City beginning in the spring. The ideal candidate will have a PhD or PsyD from an APA approved clinical or counselling program and will have completed a Post-doctoral year focusing on cognitive behavioral therapy. You must be licensed in New York State before commencing employment. Our clientele is sophisticated New Yorkers who expect state-of-the-art care. We are interested in excellence regardless of area of expertise and we are looking for someone who can join our team in the Spring 2026. Initially, work can be hybrid or in-person depending on conditions. We have weekly case conferences and often invite international speakers to present. We have weekly DBT team meetings where team members coordinate care and engage in group supervision. The ideal candidate will also be expected to do some supervision and build on the already significant skill sets of our staff. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is chosen.

Compensation: Base salary of $95,000 with the possibility of earning more depending on productivity. The range has been up to $146,000 for the first year. Many senior staff earn substantially more after their first year.

Our staff provide evaluations and treatment for psychological problems, state-of-the-art cognitive-behavioral therapy, and training for other professionals. Many members of our staff teach and supervise in graduate programs and medical schools in the New York City area and have authored research articles and chapters on cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Post Doctoral Fellow: September 2026

The American Institute for Cognitive Therapy is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join our established practice in New York City beginning September 2026. Our clientele is sophisticated New Yorkers who expect state-of-the-art care. We are interested in excellence regardless of area of expertise and we are looking for someone who can join our team in September 2026. We have weekly case conferences and often invite international speakers to present. We have weekly DBT team meetings where team members coordinate care and engage in group supervision. The search will continue until a suitable candidate is chosen.

Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000 annually
